Help We Need

OFFERING YOUR TIME

You might not always have money or products to offer us, but you might have just a little bit of time or energy to spare from time to time.

 

We’re looking for a group of supporters who can help at various fundraising and other trust events, and people who might be able to lend us some time to help with planning or marketing various activities. If you’d like to spend just a little bit of your time hanging out with us and helping us help families like yours, please email us or use the contact form.

DONATIONS IN KIND

Some people choose to support us by providing help, advice, labour or other donations in kind.

 

We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to offer any kind of support, but in particular we’re currently looking for support in the form of:

 

Design work, and printing of promotional material

 

Publicity

Events organisation

Catering (nibbles and drinks) for an upcoming event

 

Keeping these costs down makes a big difference in how much each fundraiser can earn for the trust.

We are very grateful for those regular supporters who use automatic payments. This enables easier accounting, and allows us to plan more accurately how much support we can offer families in the future.

TRIBUTES

Whether by organising your own collection, setting up a tribute page, or running an online auction, you can keep the memory of a loved one alive by raising money for the trust in the name of that person. We'd also love to hear their story so why not contact us and tell us more?

HELP WANTED

We are always looking for people who can help us to continue to grow the trust. If you think you can share some of your skills with us do get in touch! Some of the areas we are looking for support are:

Social Media

We’re looking for someone to help us with social media and online communication who is fluent in all things digital. The right person will match our trust’s values, be all over Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and how to get the best out of them, and able to keep a positive online presence for MWT that helps us tell the story of what we do, and helps too build a growing network of supporters and followers. Web design

This is our website, but we need someone who can help us keep it up-to-date with the latest stories of who we’ve helped and details about up-coming fundraising events. We currently use wix.com for web design, but we’re open to a conversation about alternative options for developing and enhancing our existing website. In particular, we’d like to enhance interaction on our website, and make it easier for supporters, followers, and those needing some help to get in touch with the right people at MWT. PR and story-telling

There are some amazing stories and people and families we’ve helped over the last almost nine years. We’re looking for someone who can help us put pen to paper and tell those stories. We use social media, our website, the Air Force News, and commercial media to share these stories, but we need someone to help us tell them. If you’re gifted at writing, and have the people skills to talk to those we’ve helped in an empathetic and caring way, then please contact us here and find out about joining our team.

$1 PER PAY

Our aim for 2020 is to build a team of 2020 supporters who will each give at least $1 per pay to MWT. Although that only costs you $26 per year (about the cost of one cafe breakfast), it will guarantee us an income of $50,000 per year. That would almost cover university fees for ten people! If we all do just a little bit, we can make a BIG difference.

WILLS AND LEGACIES

Many people choose to give gifts through their wills. We understand that family and loved ones are your first priority, but after that you might also like to consider a gift to MWT as a legacy that will keep on giving, and supporting the next generation of Air Force families.

TAX REFUNDS

Remember that every donation is tax-deductible, which means if you're a registered supporter you can claim 33% of that donation back in tax.

 

Not sure what to do with that tax return? Why not consider making a one-off donation to the trust. 

BECOME A SUPPORTER

More than anything we just want to keep in touch with you, and to know there's a huge team of supporters out their cheering us on and spreading the work about the great stuff the charity does.
